It was great. I really gave me a true realisation of what torturing a captured prisoner really meant.
The thing that appalled me most was how they said that the human body is built on the functionality of routines. Humans can withstand the most adverse conditions as long as there is a routine that drives those conditions. One method they used was to break the routine completely. They would give would in short periods or in long periods, all random. If he tried to sleep, they'd wake him. Sometimes they let him sleep. After breaking the bodily routines, the person can't concentrate hard enough on being silent. Amazing. I experienced this as well when I work on prolonged projects and my whole sleeping pattern gets messed up. Even if I sleep the required 7 hours, they are so inconsistent that my awareness level is still very low. |
