There's one called 'gamecam' which I think is used quite often. I think they offer a trial version.

Fraps is the only one really worth using tbh. GameCam, as somebody already mentioned, is really the only other viable option. Not sure about quality and compatibility though.

Try Virtual Dub, it's a lot more complex than FRAPS (even has it's own HEX editor) so you'll need to experiment a bit with it, but at least it's freeware.

Can vDub keep up and have overlays with controls? I've tried a couple of alternatives to fraps in the past and found nothing that works anywhere near as well. The rest suck the hell out of the framerate

Yeah - I remember having problems with GameCam and BF2 when I used it like two years ago.
