I didn't have sex in high school because I knew damn well A) I wasn't going to be able to sustain a meaningful relationship because within a few short years she and I would likely be going to a different college and B) I considered myself too young until I was in Senior year.

I test into that 110-120 range.

128-129 as per my last test score (3 or 4 years ago). Too bad my IQ only reflects the solid stuff, and not abstract like literature and body language--and discerning patterns in "combat", or anything else that's not a visual design <_<

Sex is fun and has nothing to do with a relationship.

Putting sexuality up unto such a high pedestal only ends up with very repressed people. And repressed people ... well they have a tendency of going to war with other people for very poor reasons.

Kind of funny when you think about it.
"US vs the Muslim world" as I've heard it portrayed alot, coincidence of both being one the most sexually repressed societies in the world ?

haha nice way putting it saobh. thought about it too, such cultures try to compensate with violence which ofcourse will never work as surrogate.. so the level of it keeps rising.

btw the IQ skala always rises with 2. so getting a 129 score isnt possible.

but this study doesnt suprise me. I mean theres a diffrence between being intelligent and a nerd. most smart people dont head off to MIT or whatever and become rocket scientists. they run companies and get rich.. think about it.
why should you, simply because youre genious, waste your resources on, bleh, puzzling over proteinsynthesis or something when you can use it to gain status, power and wealth ( and lots of good and wild sex with supermodels from over the world)

Erm...US isn't sexually repressed...we write tons of books on the subject and how to do it "better", we have a high pregnancy rate, and kids are having sex at 13 and such. Doesn't sound repressed to me.

I didn't have sex cos after a few flings I figured out that I attach VERY easily, that any kind of substantial relationship required of me a certain level of commitment, and that I didn't have that commitment to give.

Then I met this one chick who looked 34....like a fine wine, it's said...

pardon me expandable, but saying you didnt have sex during high school because condoms fail sounds very much like an excuse.
those thingies are foolproof as long as you know how to put em on correctly.
if you make sure theres no air in the reservoir the condom cant burst, simple as that. still, people manage to misdo it which imo is very funny.
the rest of your oppinion is based on christian american moral where sex is bound to marriage. which is fine I have really nothing against it.
but when janet jacksons fugly t*ttey can stirr up controversies you cant deny that sexuality is being repressed.
furthermore those books come from a open minded minority, or atleast a minority who openly admits sex is a good thing, indifferent if performed in marital bed or not.
I mean the american porn industry is huge, but at the same time nobody seems to approve to them.. so who buys that stuff?
and high pregnancy rate is a proof of no sexual education since it isnt being allowed -> repressed.
