I'm probably going to get myself a Q6600 in the near future, after the big price drop they had. Playing PR, downloading porn, browsing porn websites, and burning porn to dvd, all at the same time! It's the way of the future.

Its aircooled, i use the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro (one of the best and cheapest coolers there is - 28 Euro) - I ran several tests on the CPU yesterday (e.g. Prime95 for 2h - up to 11000 Iterations, then I wanted to play a little PR

) and after 2h at 100% CPU usage, it was at 63° - so no probs B-)

I've just seen the AMD 64 X2 6000+ AM2 socket CPUs, rougly the same price as the Core 2 Duo, opinions?

I know I'll get killed for this, but the AMDs are no match for the C2Ds atm. The AMDs we're once the OCers dream, but that has changed. C2Ds have more power in general. And they are easy to OC. I couldn't understand anybody who'd buy an AMD atm, especially since the C2Ds became cheaper last month.

Stay away from quad core mate. Just not worth it really -- by the time you need it they'll have better, true quad cores out. E6750 FTW.

QFT, although I would go for the cheapest C2D (with the desired specs like FSB) and OC it - there are loads of guides on the Internet or even youtube, where they tell you step by step how to do it.

The E6750 is currently the only E processor that supports the new 1333Mhz FSB -- it has greater overclocking potential.
