When I was at UBC, we had Arts County Fair at the end of every year. It's a big concert and party with people like K-OS, Jack Johnson, and De La Soul. About 30,000 students go, and every year about 4 die of alcohol poisoning. In continuing the party, it's known that about 4 will die per year. We make choices like this every day. Celebratory gunfire seems stupid to us, but what do we know?

Can someone explain to me why the Middle East counts as Asia, and why "Oriental" rugs come from the Middle East, and nowhere near the Orient?

I disagree with that map. Those islands are not part of mainland Asia and therefore should be considered "Pacific Islanders."
