BS. They demonize weed but you can drink all you want and kill yourself and nobody makes a fuss about that and it happens all the time. People will take prescription pills for almost any fix all reason and don't know or care whats in that synthetic cocktail, they still take them when the potential side effects include things such as death and suffering that totally outweigh the potential benefits. Every other commercial is for some new wonder drug, these studies are biased by big money interests. But weed will make you go crazy and rape women and go insane... Reefer madness.

LMAO

We should lock the thread on that note.

Where are our conspiracies nuts ?

Anyone want to mention the increasing acceptance of the medicinal value of THC and the potential threat to pharmaceutical company profits ?

If you are upstanding and morally perfect as ExpendableGrunt( heavy sarcasm) then by all means do not start smoking but to pretend that weed is bad but all the other drugs are OK is BS.

I mean legal drugs, many of which are highly toxic, but are extremely profitable.

Thank You Saobh for providing all the links to the actual data but since I am not a researcher I would not be able to judge the efficacy of the methods but I am suspicious of their motives.

Kids should not do drugs but they will anyway and now they will think they are schizo
because it has been suggested that 4 out of 10 people that smoke are or will be.
Smoking an 1/8 a day is some heavy duty usage and I too am surprised you could walk or talk .... LOL

We all have our escapes, be it video games, religion, drinking or smoking ( some do it all at the same time )but the people who frighten me the most are those with no escapes because who knows what will happen when they have more than they can handle ?

That's true. On the topic of legal drugs how many people have committed suicide after being perscribed anti-depressants by doctors when they shouldn't have. Some kid was even perscribed them - I mean how crazy is that?

If you want to get on the pharmaceutical companies conspiracy it runs a lot deeper than weed where alternative medicines (which do help a lot of people) are ridiculed because if everyone realised they didn't always need drugs for their problems there would be a massive loss to the industry's takings.

I actually half read the Daily Mail article today since my family get it and if you read the continued inside page bit it provides 3 examples of crimes committed by supposed heavy weed users. The first one goes on about this guy who stabbed a girl then himself and how he was a heavy drugs user, but then they say he went on to do lots of cocaine. No, of course the coke can't be a contributing factor, must all be that evil weed.

Amazing how ridiculously stupid adults can be. Aren't journalists supposed to be educated? (don't mention the Sun or Star )

Exactly, I mentioned the pharmaceutical/medical industry in my earlier rant.

Getting to your point about escaping and besides the medical aspect of cannabis and the governments high-horse mandate to protect us from ourselves;

For recreational purposes' it's perfectly legal to fly down a mountain side at 70 miles an hour on a pair of skis or jump out of a perfectly good airplane with no more than a glorified Dacron sheet, although according to big brother; cannabis for recreational use is harmful to your heath. bah the only thing harmful to your health concerning cannabis is the Legal system itself!!!

I think smoking weed can trigger it, but not cause it. I was diagnosed with Paranoid Schizophrenia and I used to smoke weed sometimes but I don't think it caused it. It was bound to happen wether I smoked it or not. However the shrinks say that it did not caused it.

Maybe they did research wrong. Because when you smoke weed alot you can get symptons that are like Schizophrenia. Like hearing voices and other things. I heard someone calling my name couple of times (but no one was there) after I drunk and smoked weed, I forgot. And when I started smoked weed again, couple of months ago, I became afraid the police and secret service (Dutch) were after me. So I don't smoke anymore.

LOL I'm sorry for my lack of compassion but that is funny. Looks like you made a good choice for your mental health.

I have always found the mild paranoia effect to be very useful as you are breaking the law and there are dedicated professional out to get you.
