Gaming is a good thing... right?

Too often I run into people that say they intentionally avoid computers because they think it's very counter productive or something. There are people that claim to never have played a single video in their life.

Has anyone noticed that these type of people are usually 'slower' than the computer savvy crowd? Would it be wrong to speculate that playing video games and learning how to use web software (like google maps, gmail, yahoo, vbulletin forums, etc) actually stimulate the users mind allowing them to increase hand eye coordination, multi-tasking and logic skill?

There are times when a person might tell me to "slow down" because they think I'm talking to fast for them, but minutes later when I'm talking to a fellow gamer it's back to normal.

Someone please tell me that the above is irony.

PR is almost a learning tool on leadership and communication not to mention the tactics and mouse-eye coordination..

your EQ ?
on PR ?
You have to be able to work with others to do well at PR.
Now console games, offline, that might have an impact but studies show gamers can assimilate information faster.
I saw another study that said surgeons who play video games are more coordinated so it has a postive impact.

Being in a game like this where you have to communicate with different people at different times of the day can also build confidence.

I AM NOT ALLOWED A SIG UNLESS I SHOW I CAN BEHAVE MYSELF

I wasn't talking about PR exclusively, there are a lot of games (if not most games) that doesn't require you to cooperate and/or interact with other human beings.

it depends what youre doing really. if youre just playing games and watching videos on youtube, you probably arent getting smarter (most cs players). but if you are playing video games, being social, and learning things then it can be good. its just like anything -- donuts are good, but they can make you fat if you eat too many. if you just eat one, you get more energy with your delicious treat. so it depends on how you are playing and what you are doing on the internet.

ive noticed my spelling has gotten a bit worse since i really started typing a whole lot. im trying to get better at it.
