i found that playing adventure games (tomb raider, etc)helped my navigation skills, now I'm a geographer. go figure.

Computing and the Internet is so complex and diverse, it has to be a benefit to ones scope and understanding of life in general, and gaming forces you to become an active partner with your machine to keep it running in peek condition...but man, it still blows my mind when I meet people that have used PCs for years and still don't know dick about the simplest operations other than emailing and playing solitaire.

Operation Flashpoint/Armed Assault made me a top notch navigator!

(Oh and yeah, I have implemented techniques learned from that in real life)

Everytime I see a turtle I jump on it, it's a reflex I developed playing Mario games.
