Poll: Why did you buy BF2 ?

Just curious of how mods have an impact on the shelf life of an already released game.

I know I bought BF2 because I loved playing Desert combat mod of BF on a friends computer and was awaiting its release for BF2. But I crossed PR on the way (and then the tourney)

For those who love photography : HerrWilliam on Deviant Art (a friends site)

I played the Demo when a former friend showed it to me, and we Lan'd at his house 1 on 1.

Played the demo till a bit after the game came out. Then got Special Forces not too long after it came out. Then Euro forces. Then I stopped playing for a long time. Went back, but wasn't really enjoying it much, and discovered PR last march.

Played Desert Combat for 1942 and enjoyed it so much that when it was announced that Trauma Studios had been "contracted" to work on BF2 I preordered a copy on the spot.
Then I joined the TBF2 community and shortly after that began hearing about this mod for a game that had not yet been released...
That mod was PR and I joined THIS community shortly after I found out.

{ pretty sig removed construction on new one has not begun }
... yet ...

I bought BF2 because I've wanted a combined arms games since I was 9. That was 13 years ago. I loved Code Name: Eagle, then BF1942, then BF:V. So BF2 was a natural step. A friend told me about PR and I downloaded it. He liked the extraction mode. He doesn't play it anymore though, which pisses me off.

I've gotten three people to buy BF2 just for PR.

I was playing Joint Ops and somebody at work told me about BF2.
I played for almost a year before I found PR and player PR for months before I came to the forums.
Ya'll can thank she-who-shall-not-be-named for my presence on the forums though.

^ As well. I thought BF2 was a natural evolution of BF42/DC although I found it to be a horrible deviation. Long live Project Reality, the savior of the BF2 disk!
