Honestly, I bought it for the single player. But after I tried out MP (never really cared) I got really into it.

I bought it because Joint Ops was getting tiresome, but didn't really get into it.
Then Joint Ops Reality Mod came out and I totally gave up on BF2.
After a while though, that started to die out, so I gave BF2 another try and thankfully discovered PR 0.3.

Bought BF2 to catch up with the rest, since my old comp couldnt handle anything newer than C&C Generals. Then discovered PR 0.4, didnt like it, went losing nerves over vBF2 for another month, then came back and downloaded 0.5

I bought BF2 because of several reasons.
One was that my clan was moving to the new game. Another was that I knew there were lots of good mods coming out for BF2.
However, since the mod we had played before(SilentHeroes) was a long way from being completed on the BF2 engine, we started competing in BF2 instead, and we continued until the end of last summer after finishing second in the Swedish championship.
Since I have allways been into mods I have played most mods, including PR, on and off from pretty much the first release.
