We did go to the moon. If you've got doubts, I don't blame you. The pivotal piece of evidence that we DID go, is a simple plate station we left behind on the moon. We bounce a laser between the earth and the moon from an observatory to record the (ever increasing...) distance from earth to the moon.
Also, if we really didn't go, do you think the Soviet Union would have tried everything in their power to disprove it? They didn't, as they heard for themselves that we had in fact made it there before they did. Personally I find the idea of going to the moon/mars/etc really cool. |

HAHA! When I read the thread topic, I thought "Hey! I'm going to post in there that why doesn't someone point a high powered telescope at the moon to see the flag and rover and stuff". YEAH!? Why hasn't that been done?

The moon is very far away. Our own atmosphere distorts the picture so that the best shots are impossible. We can get a clear view of the moons surface, but it's like looking at your home town while skydiving -- you don't see any toys in the yard, do you?
