Audio players to use while gaming?

I use iTunes for my audio playing needs. But I have to imagine that there's an audio player out there that's better to use while gaming.

What I want to find is an audio player that:

*plays MP3s, duh

*uses a minimal amount of system resources

*uses hotkeys to switch songs and whatnot (and hopefully hotkeys to pause when you're in a tense moment and need to hear EVERYTHING)

*can create multiple playlists

So does anybody know of any stripped down players like this?

I was going to say "traction ingame radio" but it has none of those features.
I sometimes turn the stereo up but then find myself turning back down because I can't predict when I will need to hear EVERYTHING.

I'm dloading that now. While the streaming will no doubt hurt my ping, it seems that it does have hotkeys, and so it might be worth a try.

Also, since it's designed for gaming, I imagine they'd be conscious of resource use.

How's WinAmp? I use that, and it doesn't seem to hurt too bad--though I wonder about the hotkeys...don't even have hotkeys on my keyboard anyway.

By hotkeys, I just mean hitting ctrl-alt-5 or something.

Well that's rough, as forces IRL *do* listen to their iPods while on patrol. Probably not while dismounted, but still.

Anyway, I like to listen to some Black Sabbath during those long drives across the Saharani countryside.

Arma Ftw i suppose i like to be focused.. but everyone is different.. but Arma is HUGE so you would need something to keep you occupied on those long drives/flight/walks

Exactly. Sometimes I'll leave music on while covering a sector with my SAW or M240, but when I enter a city I always want it off. You can't do that in-game with iTunes though. This Traction Radio thing's working out well, but I'm just not loving their choice of music.
