What you have to remember is, realism games are a small niche of the gaming world. Its more lucrative to appeal to the run and gun generation.

America was a tad late into the First World War. They redeemed themself's and came in slightly sooner in the Second. Now they seem determined to start the Third.

It's so frustrating though, because this was like the only really decent game of it's type that was also successful. I dun mind them dumbing it down for consoles, but it's stupid that they hafta 'tard the PC ones too. It's like a slap in the face to people who supported GR, bought all the expansions etc.

^ Agreed. Dibs on the M16 w/ M203! It's my very favourite weapon in the game. Normally, I equip fireteam Alpha with 2 riflemen with M203s and one support gunner with an M249 and hand grenades. Fireteam B gets a rifleman w/ M203, a support gunner or sniper depending on the terrain, and the last slot is reserved for any specialist kits needed for the mission (such as demolitions).

My only problems with OGR were the short view distance and the impressively high accuracy of the enemies. Seriously, those guys were sharpshooters!

That series had so much potential... but once again, we see regression in the genre. There are barely any games I can look forward to nowadays.

Yeah, I get pwned by enemies once in a while. Actually, all the time. The trick is to use massed, cowardly, indiscriminate firepower to take them all out as fast as possible. The American Way, in other words...
