ya true i wounld of let him fly i wont care it it crashs(Agian) its a WW2 plane and it is slow and everything it died what he loved doing thats what iu would tell his wife.

"slow" id hardly say that its slow. its max allowable speed was around 360 knots or about 416 mph. cruise speed was around 250 knots or 290 mph.

See, this is what pisses me off: It took them 10 years to restore that plane. I helped with restoration of the Memphis Belle, and the Air Force took it from us after only 4 years, because they weren't satisfied with our progress. Now, it's probably part of that soda can that you're drinking out of right now.

I was watching a show where they recover WWII planes from all over the world.
My bleeding heart liberal sister was very concerned with how many trees were cut down in the process of recovering some plane from Papua New Guinea.

That said though, it's quite rediculous to be concerned about the relatively few trees that might be damaged in recovering an important piece of history.
