Yeah. The paying members get a place, then the left over slots go to free subscribers.

No, there are 60.000 beta keys in total. 30.000 are given to paying Fileplanet members as we speak, the remaining 30.000 will be released to the free subscribers in batches over the coming days.

i hate to be superficial, but it's a bit of a let down to first see screens like this:

I saw this in the shops for preorders. Looks pretty cool, though haven't looked into it much.

I used to play in a Quake clan many years ago and never really liked the later sequels.

as for the images, is it possible that one might be taken from an FMV as opposed to ingame? I've found that quite common with games though where they have excellent graphics or features are talked about that never make it to the final game.

one recent example would be S.T.A.L.K.E.R. where you were supposed to be able to repair and drive vehicles (even had vid demonstrating it) and was just never in final game.

I'm not sure if I'll be into the Quake Wars as much as BF2/PR though as I've always wanted a realistic FPS with real guns and now have it all.
I never got BF 2142 as I'm just not into futuristic stuff as much anymore.

Well, after seing this video from the beta i'm not so sure i'm going to like original game. It's not exactly PR.

Maybe PR has converted me into a team style of play. That game just wouldn't do it for me. Sorry quake!
