Default new comp specs, the tech support forum doesn't get to much attention...

and

am i missing anything? (besides hard drive and dvd/cd drive, those are pretty new anyways)

Seems fine. It isn't going to run any DX10 games but those won't be mainstream for a while. Seems fine enough. Next month I'll be selling this machine off (for like 600) with similar specs.

yeah, this will cost a little over $600


but not to sure if i'll get the money though, borrowed money doesn't always come back :/

I would consider upping the video card if possible. I would watch for some sales and get something in the 79xx range if possible. Im not suggesting you get a top end but a 7900gt or or something will give you a better gaming experience.

Obviously stepping up to the 8800GTS 320mb would add allot to the bottom line but would be a bit more future proof.

well, im on a budget, and this is the best i can get on the budget, and im not gonna spend that much money to buy a 8800, i'd also have to get vista, which cost's alot... and im not to worried about the future, there will still be games made on xp for quite some time, alot of people can't afford to get vista (which requires alot of upgrades), so the companies will be selling on xp till things get cheaper
