^ god i'd hate to live in america.
Technically it could. Say money was invested in blue chip research companies, which then turned out to be a waste of time, and said technologies were worthless. Those stocks would tumble, on a global scale, since each country would have invested money in their own. The tumble would then affect related companies along the line, including those providing resources, manufacturing, holding companies, customers of said company, and then it spreads out. The tumble will generally mean that in a bid to keep shareholder happyish, costing cutting 9occurs, normally peoples jobs, reducing the spending power of the public, who spend less, equalling smaller profits, lowering stock values and the process repeats. "The tumble would then affect related companies along the line", no. that would not happen, why if one company goes bankrupt do the rest follow suit? if anything, competing companys would profit from the loss of a rival. you're overthinking it, companys go bust everyday and a economic crash doent follow everyday. BusinessX has just spend many billions of US and private funding with nothing to show at the end. There is no way for BusinessX to recoup from that since the technology developed is worthless, and as such, the shares tumble. The share tumble wipes the value of that resource being held by trading companies and part time traders, which in turn wipes value from their shares, or if a person, wipes a hefty chunk out of their bank account when they sell up. Now this is going to go through the chain the market and at the bottom level, cost cutting comes into play resulting in loss of jobs. The less people earn, the less they are taxed since income is limited and as such, so is their expenses. your argument here seems to be that everybody in the country is employed by businessX so nobody has anymoney because no-one has a job. i have no idea what the percent would be but probably something like 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 000000001% of people are employed by the same comercial company. also you cant have private funding without a privately owned company which would mean that there are no shares in the company which mean no share holders. businessX which is researching a way of stopping global warming?(think thats what you said somewhere) has been deemed good enough by the government to fund with billiones of dollars, i think this company is going to have quite a high skilled workforce of some of the countrys best scientists who can easily start researching something else. and what you said about it being like the 1930's american deprresion because of your spreading of financial collapse throught a chain of business would not make a countrys economy collapse, yes - some companys in england and other countrys may have invested in chinas companys but those are a few of thousends that lose monay which is not that of the countrys but that of the companys anyway. "Not quite yet. We cant fully sustain fusion for prolonged periods of time and anti-matter is particularly hard to get on Earth. Fix those two problems and then we have a cleaner source of energy than solar panels." there are many more sustainable and 'green' sources of power than fusion and anti-matter. Quote:
"95% , i dout it. even if wiki got the 1% wrong i know for sure that nitrogen is 78%(well in school we hear 80%) so 95% water , no way." the air we breath is very different to the many layers of our atmosphere, the reason there is so much nitrogen in our air is because it is heavier then alot of gasses, most of the the atmospher is actually ozone O3 "Not so long ago, today's deserts were jungles and jungles were deserts. " deserts and forests swithcing are mainly due to things such as tectonic plate shift and deforestation, not changes in CO2 anyway i feel like ive rambled for a while so im going to stop.

I like this. I can admire a guy who stresses over and over that we really don't know whether it's going to happen, or whether we're the cause of it.
I say people who polarize on this are vindication-craving wankers. |

I presented the most important to understand, most overlooked bit of info about global warming and what happens? It gets overlooked.

Its like throwing a pebble into a lake, and you can see the ripples spread. The bigger the company, the bigger the ripple. Forget that the best scientists could do it - that is irrelevant to the explanation. If the global warming phenomena is not man made, then the money is wasted. Sure they could fix the problem, but the point is that the problem might not exist. If the problem doesn't exist, how will a competitor gain from that? The funding is gone, the contract is void, so the competitor wont be given a chance. Anyway, your taking it out of context - I was explaining the links between projects like this failing, the global economy and depression. As for the explanation to global warming ... erm, the plates have very little to do with it, unless England roughly where southern France is? Its either 3 things, the nature cycle of the sun and its affect on the Earth's atmosphere, or it is the increased emissions produced by man - or both combined to make option 3. For it to be the plates, the climate would have had to change extremely slowly over a few hundred million years, not every few hundred years.

Bottom line is that science knows very little about how the earth's climate cycles work. All they know is that the sun's surface and the earth's internal molten movements are major players, but they're uncertain as to just how these relate to anything man-made.
People look at an increased temps over the past 50 years and automatically link it to the rise of industrialism because they happened at the same time, but that's like breaking a mirror and getting hit with bad luck then thinking one has something to do with the other. For all we know, the recent rise of temps is just a cycle that is far beyond our control or influence. Being environmentally conscience is a good thing, but it's being taken to the extreme of banning every little things that humans do and it's getting way out of hand. |

haha replace gw in the video with aliens invading... stupid logic and he doesn't go though all the major effects... anyways i think man made global warming is a bunch of bs and the main reason ppl still cry about is cuz of politics/money/jobs (how many ppl lose their jobs if manmade GW turns out to be false?)

I don't know about you, but I would also hate to live in USA, where people have guns and sue each other for losing a pair of trousers. People are discriminated for everything.
Europe is much more beautiful and full of different cultures. But that's just my opinion. For Global Warming? I don't worry cause I won't live that long anyway at least another 80 years, by then the governments wil have realised and acted upon it. |
