Good books about British Infantry battles, WW2 to Present?
I've read about two dozen books about American infantry already but I can never find any good ones about the British. Sometimes I find ones that read like college military history books but I like books that read at the squad/platoon/company level, ones that describe action from the boots on the ground. We don't seem to carry these types of books in the U.S. or are there just not any being published? Any of y'all know some books?

I went to Tesco's earlier today and saw a new hardbook book based on the experiences of the soldiers fighting in the Falklands war. Tesco has a couple of books on the Falklands right now, unsurprisingly.

Dusty Warriors - Richard Holmes
Eye Of The Storm - Peter Ratcliffe The first two are fantastic, and really are essential reads if you're after gritty realistic writing of combat in the British Army after the Second World War. I highly recommend both of those books. I definitely preferred Eye of The Storm to the much publicized Bravo Two Zero. |

..gets off sofa..
Pegasus Bridge - June 6th, 1944. Stephen Ambrose. ISBN 0-671-67156-1 Short book... but a great read... very accurate... those crazy bastards. a story about the planning and execution of a typically crazy airborne head on attack on an important bridge on the night before D-day. |
