This is just another "smoke & mirrors" EU Urban Myth story (not by you D_LaMz) like bananas that aren't of the right curvature or supermarkets and off licences only being allowed to sell booze at weekends under secret plans by barmy Brussels bureaucrats (Daily Star 21 February 2005) or, hilariously, the tightrope-walker says that his career has been placed in jeopardy by legislation originating in Brussels which dictates that he must wear a hard hat to perform.
It aint gonna happen. It's all a ruse. |

obviously a bike isnt the answer in every situation. but i do think people should be less dependant on their cars, and bikes are a great alternative for short commutes.
also important is the environment. electric and hybrid cars work great from what i've heard, and we definitely have the technology to make super clean independent energy sources (solar panels are incredibly great). the more legislation that limits oil dependent / fast / heavy cars... the better. |

Nowadays, there's really no such thing as a "short commute".

my car goes 240 km/h and i use that capability
nonetheless i agree that no one really HAS to go that fast. in fact, you save a shitload of money if you go a bit slower (DIESEL costs 1,08€ here *waaaah*), do good for the environment and such. so i have no problem with that. i'm completely in for banning SUVs since they are only compensation for rudimentary dicks and usually not been driven offroad. if you wanna go fast, get a REAL car and not such a shit like a porsche cayenne fuckers |

Big Engined cars are alot heavier due to their engine size and NOT because of current safety technology! If anythign new technology has reduced the weight of cars in the past 10 years. I have a new (E90) BMW 330d and it is so lightweight I really dont understand why it has a 46k price tag because on weight alone i got more for my money with my E46 lol
no but seriously the Engine is the largest contributing weight factor to any motor vehicle, not only that, Bigger engine cars consume more fuel @ 30mph than smaller engined cars (e.g 1.0 -1.4) when travelling @ 90mph or over overall emissions from a large engined car choke the atmosphere they really do and you dont need to be a scientist to figure that out common sense dictates that a 3 litre engine is going to produce 3 times more emmisions than a 1 litre engine becasue its power output is three times larger! Dont get me confused though, I think it is a crap idea lol, I do think it is fun to drive my car at 163mph (Dinan chip/De-restricted) down an empty road, hats off the the germans for truly amazing engineering, the new 3 series pwns! The way see it is that they will never restrict vehicle speed because the UK govenment especially would lose money over it, we pay more tax (alot more) if you have a big engined car/4x4 so by limiting that they would lose £££££'s in taxation, its never gonna happen. I dont even see how they pressure the public about green house gases and attempt to stick a tax on polution when they are not even giving a greener more viable alternative, HHO Technology is well on its way now, so is Fuel cells yet we are not givin these as an alternative..... it is for no other reason than the goverments of the world would lose money of fuel taxes, its hypocritical tbh, they are so up for a greener planet but only if the greener part comes in the form of notes, disgusting aint it! Rant end |
