America...the land of opportunities.

Where your grandparents can immigrate with no common language and no skills and you can rise to be governor of one of the most populous and wealthy states ( Gov Cuomo ).

Or your parents can immigrate with no language and you can rise to be the top law enforcement official in a rather large nation ( Attorney General Gonzalez )

Or your parents can immigrate with language and you can rise to the highest ranking military officer and later secretary of state ( General Colin Powell )

That's the country they want to leave.

Gonzalez, seriously ? He's an example of an inept partisan poodle.
Not really in the same league as the other two.

inept partisan poodle ??
He still rose to the highest LE office in the country and what you are referring to is the firing of 8 people.
When Clinton fired all 93 to stop investigations into his activities there was no such claims was there ?
But our media is "fair and balanced" with no bias or partisanship.
I just want to know what high government office you hold that qualifies you to call people inept ?

Grunt I seriously don't suck at making a living and I'm not raging on the rich. In fact I'm saying they should be able to flourish and prosper. I'm just saying if they want to live high on the backs of the working classes with dignity and safety, and enjoy the very prime cut of what this country offers, they should play fair and pay the tab.
Excerpt from the hidden entitlements: http://www.ctj.org/hid_ent/part-2/part2-3.htm
[Here's a real-world example: In its 1987 annual report to its stockholders,IBM said that a third of its worldwide profits were earned by its U.S. operations. But on its federal tax return, IBM treated so much of its R&D expenses as U.S.-related that it reported almost no U.S. earnings--despite $25 billion in U.S. sales that year. As a result, IBM's federal income taxes for 1987 were virtually wiped out.]

Also consider this: Corporations recruit the most brilliant graduates with super high starting salaries leaving the lower tier graduates and lower pay bracket to teaching jobs. So not only do they not pay their fair share, they siphon off our best minds. (cure for Cancer? not when Cancer treatment is so lucrative)

I am on your side with regard to corporate taxes and corporate welfare.
But I don't want to see a 95% tax rate on the highest earners either.

...and I'm with you as well, I in fact don't want to see any personal income taxes period. low or high income earners for that matter. I mean dig it; people take home more income they spend more money. Result corporations in fact take in more revenue then pay out more taxes. It all comes back into the social pool anyway, it's just unbalanced at this point in history. But hey as history teaches They will drive it to extremes, and all it takes is a major economic downturn and the new "bastille" fulfills "das capital".

He didn't exactly 'rise' to that position, he was appointed because bush knew he could count on him to tow the party line. I see a difference there. Not a good example, like the other two.

He rose each time thanks to Bush appointments. And considering Bush's history of appointing people for their close loyalty rather then qualifications as well as his interpretation of the:
- Freedom of Information Act
- Geneva Convention
- USA PATRIOT Act
- Habeas Corpus

Make be seriously doubt his loyalty to Justice he is supposed to represent.

edit: as well as check about the Texas Youth Commission scandal, which as with the Boys town scandal are in my view a testament of the horrid underlying tool of corruption which exists.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe its a tradition for all 93 U.S. Attorneys to submit a letter of resignation at the start of a Presidents term.
In 1981, Regan first year 71 where accepted, growing to 89 of the end of the second year.
In 1993, Clinton accepted 80 of them. growing to 89 as well in the second year. (not 93 as you've stated).
Bush accepted 88 of them at the end of his 2 years.

But the difference here is changing appointed people in the middle of the Presidents term, for reasons are not about misconduct.

So yeah it does smell pretty fishy.

Oh and don't forget about the 150 Graduates of Pat Roberson's College in Bush's administration. You guys that don't live in the States and aren't hip to Pat Robertson, Google him hes quite a trip and in my opinion a true Neo Christian Inquisitor of the old school. fortunately his fangs are capped somewhat by our Constitution.
