I never said becoming a soldier was easy. I'm just saying it's not the hardest job in the military.

Flying is like being a soldier in the respect that you have to keep your skills up to scratch. If you don't fly for a few weeks then you get rusty. If you don't shoot you also get rusty.

So what about USMC pilots ?
They are riflemen first and have to pass the basic PT tests and be able to fly.
I have heard that flying a jet is like doing algebra in your head while you run a marathon.
Housing comes out of a Royal Marines pay ?
That sucks.

It comes out of most military personnels pay if I've been informed rightly.

And our pilots have to pass basic PT etc. Don't think that pilots are just fat geeks.

Well since pilots pull more G's than F1 drivers and F drivers are in good shape it stands to reason that pilots would be too.
I'm sure there are some chubby transport pilots but AFAIK all military personal have to pass basic PT tests.
I would choose being a pilot over being a grunt though because I like shiny things that go beep and I don't care for sleeping in the mud during a monsoon.

All pilots have to be fit. I believe this is so they can pick their sorry arses up and run when the chopper/jet hits the deck.
