PR History?
I started following the mod a few years back but I can hardly rememberwhen that was. Then I joined the forums when i really thought I had something good to say (and when I became a more devoted player to the mod)
But I was wondering if it would be possible for a MOD or DEV or someone just in the know to sort of recap the history and progress of the PRMM to PR mod, highlighting key things such as the inclusion of popular maps, gameplay changes, limited kits, rallypoints, brits, m14, etc. This isnt a high priority, I know, but I was really wanting to read through it and get that sort of nostalgic feeling. Itd also be nice for us all to look back and see how far this mod has come. (winning the silver spanner, etc.) To remember when we all igned up, picked up a rifle, and threw down our arcadey days of vBF2. I put this in off-topic, cuz its not really a suggestion... and I guess to me, it's off-topic enough. Thanks all, and while I'm in the mood, thank you all who work day in and day out for the betterment of Project Reality. This has changed my thoughts on online FPS drastically! <3 Okita Maybe this history would belong in a wiki page but compiled into a version history with other outside events(like the spanner award and such as I mentioned)? |

In the begining there was Requiem. And he said "let there be PR" and, following the release of BF2, there was. And he saw that it was good.

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

On the 4rd release, he said "let there be limit or uber kits" the there was On the 5th release, he said "let there be less lag on Basrah" And there was less lag On the 6th release, he said created the british apc and the militia, and let them inhabit the land. On the seventh release he said "let the content lock" and he stopped and looked at his work. and he saw that it was good on the day after the 7th release, the crowd got mad at him and made him get back to work until the US Army in implemented, there was fast roping and a hovercraft capable of transporting an Abrams from Muttrah City V2 to Basrah. | |

Remeber than smacktards came to the land, and was tempted by the squad leader to teamkill and kill civilians, so Requiem bannished all the smacktards from the PR into the land of Karkand... |

I actually started playing PR from its earliest public version,
whatever its name was (0.1 Alpha?). The first things they really started out with was increased damages and minor altercations to the ballistics. But, way back then, we could use the unlock system with mods. The following may shock you about this early version: PR[MM] still had a HUD. Now of course, things got better from there, as they started improving the ballistics and adding more features, as well as removing unrealistic vehicles and features within stock BF2. I remember Pre-v0.4, we (the community) would get really pissed at EA because of their timing with the patches. I think it was v0.3 that was just released, a couple days old and then EA hit us with a patch. Then we had to wait a few days for the hotfix (if we patched). Of course, the rest of you joined around this time between v0.31 and v0.4. Oh, and the Devs were always saying the British would arrive in v1.0. We all know how that turned out! And that's all I remember. |
