I used to know this guy. He elisted into the USMC (I was going to but things happened) after high school (he's older than me by 2 years I think). Last time I saw him we got along fairly well. He came home from Japan (was WIA in Afganistan or something) and I was sort of hoping to see him again. Well one night I'm playing Project Reality and he gets on a friends IM (not a friend anymore actually) and sees my old screen name "NamelessMarine". That SN was named after the character from doom, the "Nameless" marine. So he goes balistic. I didn't hear anyone IMing me while I was in game until I brought up the menu to mess with a setting. He started with some bad accusations and got progressively worse and worse till he was calling me some really, really foul stuff.

At the time I thought it was just the guy who owned the SN. I tried to message him but he was largely ignoring what I was typing. So I called his house and found out it was this (excuse for) a marine picking on me. A soldier picking on a civilian is a disgrace to any branch you belong to, let alone the USMC. He made references to wanting to fight me (wouldn't have gone well, had he come here it would have been a simple ambush, sorry to say) and crap. So I hug up, wanting to be the bigger man and just forget about this crap. Well, the guy who's friends with him (was friends with me) let it slip at work, and I ended up quitting because they wouldn't stfu about it. Last I heard of him was last month; he told someone we both knew to send a message to me saying "Stop messing with my family and you had best look out". Considering the fact that A) I hadn't thought about that pathetic individual in some time, and B) I don't know his family at all, I'm wondering if I should start keeping a weapon with me in my room at all times.

Shit man that sounds bad, that guy sounds like a total sicko in my opinion.
Seeing it from his point of view, hes injured (possibly by the ragheads) taken away from his marine mates i bet hes gutted so he see's someone in his opinion impersonating him or the marines in general so he gets annoyed that all hes trained for someone else has earned within a few letters of typing.

My uncle is a Marine and he saw some airsoft gear i had with the Commando flash and the RM badge he didn't mind he thought it was kinda cool and it made him happy that people liked the marines.

Ha, in my old days in the evil MySpace, there was an airsoft group there with a Marine--well, technically he got discharged as soon as he was instated because of some medical condition. He ragged on me constantly.
