i live in a low fly area in the vicinity of 3 airbases, and i regularly get 4 hercules' coming over low flying, pumas, merlins, apaches, lynxs, and sea kings especially.
even those British navy captured sailors and marines flew over my house in their sea kings. oh, and i never get tired of it...(so much so i want to become a military pilot myself) |

Beh, I live in the countryside near Colchester, which means 16 air assault love using our fields for practicing low level flying. Lynx are cool, but having them going over more or less once a week (especially when you have a dog who insists on "seeing them off" by jumping on the wall and barking at them) can get real old real fast.
And it is slightly disconcerting when they start following you when you're driving at night. And seriously, how many insurgents are going to by driving a BT grey Metro van? Mind you, I still rush out into the garden to have a gander at them. And this one time while I was sweeping the grain pit we had a C-130 fly over just above pylon hight about 150m from where I was working. Which was awesome. Also, my position means that it seems that half the aircraft due to do airshows in the South East of England wait overhead, which is pretty cool. |

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
