RGG hosted ArmA Evolution night (Sat June 2nd)

The RGG squad (http://rggsquad.co.uk) would like to invite those of you who own Armed Assault to join us for a night of Evolution, this Saturday June 2nd 2007.

When?
Saturday June 2nd 2007

6PM EDT (Eastern Daylight Time)
11PM BST (British Summer Time)
12PM HST (Hawaii Standard Time - For Dylan )

Where?
The RGG server.

Server IP: 82.192.78.160
Port: 2900

The server is 14 slots (so we may not be able to accomodate all of those who may wish to join us) and is located in the Netherlands. Players from EU and NA can expect good pings.

In addition, the server is running 'Veteran' mode. This means third-person views and the corsshairs are disabled.

NOTE: The server is passworded, so if you are interested, contact Sawyer, Nightwolf or Thunder for further details.

NOTE(2): The server is currently running 1.05, so that patch is required to join us. Unfortunately, this means those of you with an Atari (NA) version of the game will not be able to join us.

Likewise, we will also be using our TS server (open to the public). So come in and have a chat!

Label: RGG
IP and Port: 85.17.155.22:8767

Who?
The RGG squad (http://rggsquad.co.uk) and anybody else who is interested!

RGG includes myself, A.J Sawyer, Nightwolf, Thunder, Dylan, Woody, Viper, Dr.Rank and Nephrmuus.

What?
Evolution. I'm sure most people with ArmA are familiar with this (frankly, overplayed) mission. For those who aren't, here is a brief summary.

Evolution is a large-scale coop mission. The players start off at the airbase located North of Pariso. Each major town is controlled by the SLA. An enemy controlled sector (a town) is indicated with a large black circle, and enemy anti-air cover (usually streching far outside of the towns and cities) is indicated with small red corsses.

The main objective of Evolution is to clear each town of enemies (all armour and infantry must be destroyed), but, if you join another players squad, that SL can select from a number of side missions or your squad attempt. These side missions include, but are not limited to, ambushing a convoy, patrolling a designated area or resucing a downed Black Hawk pilot.

Clearing towns, completeing missions, and killing enemies all earn you points. As you ascend the ranks (gained by earing points) you get access to better vehicles and weapons.

Essentially, it's a coop version of CTI.

Why?

Because although Evolution may be overplayed, it offers a great deal of tactical possibilities, and granted you have a good bunch of guys on TS, all working together (what we are aiming for) it can be a truly awesome experience.

Anything else?

We will be trying to use realistic kit loadouts. That means everybody won't be running around with an M24 and an AT4. Pilots and crewman may be the exception to this rule, though.

We recommend you have a microphone, but it is not required. ArmA is so much better with one, though!

Once again, http://rggsquad.co.uk

Hope to see a few of you there .

I think I will be able to make it. May or may not have plans for the weekend.

And ever if evolution is overplayed, it is always random, thus, infinite possibilities. Kind of like us trying to take out some armor, and ending up fighting off an entire city of SLA. Took out 48 of those losers.

P.S. Thanks for the HST time.

Meh, can't. Compy might be working, but I have Combat Operations.

Would it be possible to upgrade the server to the 1.07 patch? Seems we have two fine members just wantin' to play! Plus, extra FPS.

WRT updating the server to the 1.07 beta.

Likely won't be happning. A few members have the Sprocket version, and the beta patch requires activiation - meaning they will need to use their last activation code.
