June 9, 1983 - Conservative Margaret Thatcher, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom since 1979, wins a landslide victory (42% of the popular vote) over Michael Foot, who led a highly-divided and weakened Labour Party which earned only 28% of the vote. The much improved economy (after 2-3 years of restructuring), her victory in the Falkands, as well as shrinking unemployment rates consolidates her election victory.

Later in that year, Yes released 90125. Not only did this album put them back on the map, not only did it feature their only song to hit #1 on the US charts "Owner of a Lonely Heart", but it also completely failed to suck balls. This is my happy music.

Which is more than I can say for any Genesis material released in the entire decade.

On the day I was born, nothing interesting happened.

Though, some 40 years before that, on the same day, a bunch of Americans, Brits and some other dudes all decided to go on a field trip to continental Europe, where they found a quite enthusiastic reception by a bunch of Germans. They called that "D-Day."

	The verbal brutality found on forums is often reminiscent of the physical brutality found in first person shooters, except that forums allow those with slower reflexes to join the carnage without a handicap.
