wow, that video makes me quite embarrassed. No wonder we are where we are now--because we align with people who know as little as or less than we do.

For the record, those Americans among us that are more educated and informed prove that with our votes.
Can we please not hijack threads? Get the guts to test your theory in a REAL debate thread about that subject instead of putting it in a discussion where you don't think you'll get a response or keep them to yourself. This is about the poll OP linked us to:

Now that I've had a good nights' sleep, I'd like to continue.

I don't really feel threatened by Muslims putting their religion before their nationality. I'm not religious myself, but a country can change, while a religion is pretty much fixed.

The fact that so many muslims don't think the hijackers were Arabs is a bit more...unsettling, though.

I do think the poll takers were pretty inefficent. Frankly, the poll would have been much better if it just asked one question to those Muslims:

Do you support Al Qaida?

That's the only answer I really care about.

real political debate? I'd love to see one of those here. I'm dying for it actually.

lol, yeah because we all know how long threads with any little fraction of political dissent last around here.
They close threads without even saying who did it or why.

The funny part is, the same people acting upset about why the muslims (in general) are pissed off at Americans are sitting there like a bunch of dumbasses wondering why it is so. Like, "what could we have possibly done to paint a negative image of ourselves?"

Because that political dissent is usually out of place. Why? Because people never TRY to start their own threads when they want to debate the issues, they just go into someone else's.

This will be another one of those threads if we don't start talking about this American muslim poll again...

some important points:

Quote:
At the same time, Muslims in the United States are widely concerned about Islamic extremism, and express strong disapproval of terrorists and their tactics. In fact, about threequarters (76%) say they are very or somewhat concerned about the rise of Islamic extremism around the world, and 61% say they are concerned about the possible rise of Islamic extremism
in the U.S. Similarly, more than three-in-four say that suicide bombing in defense of Islam is never justified, and just 5% express favorable views of al Qaeda.
The majorities of Us muslims do not support suicide bombing or islamic extremism. Read the report, not the poorly worded article that ghostrider posted.
