What makes a successful student created newsletter?

Oh, I used to work for the local rag, I know how to use the software to create a newsletter, but content specifc to todays university is a mystery right now. I'm a bit of a mature student so theres a generation gap.

Plus, I am only intending to start with a B&W single page, printed both sides.

What sort of column, what type of news, how much imagery? a cartoon strip? Mentioning names or not?

I'm interested in producing an underground magazine, an anarchistical one when I hit university this year. Aside from costs, I'd like to make sure it doesn't fall down too flat!

Existing students? I have nowhere to store them back at my place, the cupboards are filled to brimming.

Besides, I want to keep anonymous about this during my 5 years there.
