Germans drive really fast. When we were on the Autobahn we drove 130 km per hour and we were the slowest.

Do all Germans have green blood, as frequently portrayed in German localized versions of video games?

Nah,but since the Amoks in Erfurt,Emsdetten and whatnot the oh so baaad "Killergames" are a great excuse for the politicians to reinitiate censorship.

My "favourite" guy,Günther Beckstein even stated that "Killergames" are as bad as Childporn and all gamers are potential murderers.

Just like Erfurt:This guy had hardly any friends, messed up his Abitur(should be the same as the high-school exam),got kicked out of his school and wrote a long letter that stated his reasons more exactly.
But all this was set aside as soon as somebody found out that he had Counter-Strike on his PC and so it started:"He hated humanity and loved Killergames" stated the "Bild am Sonntag",Germanys worst and one of the most read newspaper.
That he didn't had acces to the internet which would it make quite hard to actually play it was put aside as an unimportant detail....

Grah.

But.....here are Games available where you can actually see women's breasts, unlike as in the U.S.A

On 2 separate occasions my family moved to Germany and I spent a total of 7 years of my childhood there (a 3rd time my family moved to Italy for 2 years) In all honesty, those were the best years of my childlife. The German people have a "lust" for life that we lost or never had here in the States.

The thing Americans notice right off when they visit Germany is how Americanized and easy to assimilate it actually is. Franfurt for example, has one of the largest American populations in europe, plus it's the only city on the continent with a serious American style highrise skyline, since it got almost totally bombed out during the war.

Max is right on that. I have a Eastie cousin that's a screaming Nazi (He's from Erfurt as well). maybe it's cause they were under a Stalinist boot for so many years. In turn a lot of Westies embrace socialism.

Great thread "Bruder"

Well, thats fitting,Frankfurt having most american people and Berlin Kreuzberg practically being the turkish(damn, why don't you people use Umlaute?)capital ^^

And,no offense here,I would not actually say that we are "amercanized",since the american culture is more or less mainly a mix-up of the western-europe countries. But you are right, you'd have to look thoroughly to find a piece of german history/culture celebrated formally. And do not dare to say Oktoberfest now, this comes from Bavaria, and it's still questioned if they are part of germany xD.

And it is true,it's a bit amazing how many semi-socialistic people we have, especially if you think about the thing with the DDR.
But still, sadly the NPD(the party which resembles the Nazi-Ideology the most)are gaining ever morev votes, like 10% just before a short time.

Belgium by far has more beer fests than Germany. Yea true about Bavaria. I remember an old woman threatening us kids saying "if you don't act right, I'm sending for the Bavarian cannibals (Bayern Menschenfresser) to come eat you"....lol....although Bavaria is truly a super friendly state.

*Hardtman, we don't have the umlaute on our keyboards and if we did, we wouldn't know what to do with it. Much like this useless (~) Spanish tilde key. Another pronunciation key difference in learning to read German is the super (B) thing that means a double (ss) Other than that English is actually a Germanic language that in my opinion, can be learned relatively easily by English speakers. Although I learnned Italian rather quickly as well, maybe because I know Spanish and they're both Romansch.
