Frankly, my dear, we don't really need to know if you don't give a damn. And it's not exactly nice to Tommy either.

The post above would be an example of spam in an off-topic thread. A post that does not contribute anything at all. So don't do that.

As for a spam thread, that would be threads that don't really have a topic (so they're more like general chatting). I'm not against those threads (heck, I loved them when we had some!), but in the end everybody makes a new one and the off-topic section fills up completely with spam. And since it has been chosen to keep the off-topic section at least semi-serious, that would be a bad thing.

Fact of life: A Conscience is what hurts when all your other parts feel so good.

As much as it hurts my spamming pride I have to agree...
I don't really mind the spam unless it gets over the top and starts crawling on its' own.
The OT forum is an excellent place for some friendly chitchat about whatever crosses your minds. Trogdor is an outstanding example of this...

But when spam crosses over into the other forums that is when the heavier moderation should come into play. Not here... Not in my precious OT.

Oh and this is forbidden:
do not use this particular colortag. Devs and mods will be severly pissed!

{ pretty sig removed construction on new one has not begun }
... yet ...

Indeed. That used to be severely abused...

Also agreed with the rest of your post.

For an example of a spam thread (by the OP), find Trogdor's profile, look for all threads he's ever started. That's your answer to question two.

I AM NOT ALLOWED A SIG UNLESS I SHOW I CAN BEHAVE MYSELF

Whoosh.

Obviously you missed that it was the famous line from Gone With The Wind and wasn't entirely serious.

I kinda figured... But hey, I've never heard of Gone With The Wind. As I'm sure is the case with many people here. So things that require knowledge to understand can easily be taken the wrong way over the internet.
