The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Anyways, yes there is some horseshit in SPR but I did read part of a book about Rangers in WWII (called Rangers in World War Two And talking about patriotic overtones, what do you think Tae Guk Gi means in Korean? It's the name of the South Korean flag (and Korean Flag flag prewar before North and South divided). Where's all the shit flingin over that? I bet if SPR was called "The American Flag" every European would balk non-stop at all the "Americanism" the film contained. Like what do y'all expect? I'm sorry Germany can't make a nice film about their soldiers deeds, y'all were the bad guys twice unfortunately, France retreated and Canada doesn't have the budget. And I guess English studios don't have the budget either to make a good one, I'd really like to see a new movie about the British infantry in WWII or the Falklands but the only thing that's come out lately is that god awful Ultimate Force tv show. All SPR was saying is that we should be proud of what our soldiers did, for me personally I had absolutely no idea some of the D-Day beach assaults happened that way, The Longest Day couldn't depict it with such realism and watching Discovery channel shows about it gave me nowhere near the understanding as seeing SPR and for that reason I now have this immense respect for those soldiers who mustered the courage to fight back tyranny when their country asked them to. If your own country doesn't have the means to produce a film that displays how proud they are of their soldiers then that ain't nobodys damn fault, sometimes it seems like y'all are taking out some frustrations on Americans, especially after all the resentment over there towards the war in Iraq. I'm not saying TGG doesn't have some good stuff in it but it was more obviously influenced by SPR than any of the other war films that have come out since 1998. No one will ever make a 100% realistic war movie, there's always some artistic license. Otherwise you can't spend millions on budget, and expect to draw a crowd.

You one of these people who forgets that British soldiers are fighting and dying over there too, alongside the US guys? If you are, are you another knobber who reads books and is vocal, instead of getting off his ass and serving, THEN having a more true picture to talk about? "My bro" or "My neighbour was there" doesn't count. I may have picked you up wrong though

What does me calling out people who are angry at the American government for the war on terror have to do with remembering if British soldiers are serving in Iraq???
I've read the casualty statistics for OIF and OEF many times, I know which countries are participating. |

hey, I told ya I may have got the wrong end of the stick
HABO3, on another point, I know that the Stats that the MoD releases have large discrepencies in regards to what *exactly* is classed as an injury, so don't believe all the stats you read. No doubt the US gvt do the same |
