I don't know why, but all the foreign movies make me tear up at the end. Tae Guk Gi, Otokotachi no Yamato, Letters from Iwo Jima.

When I see American-made war movies, I hardly feel any emotion at all.

Also the one where they throw the shovels at each other AND the one where they are at like a church and they throw a like home-made sticky bomb at it. I think they are the same movie. Anyone know?

The one with the sniper is probably Enemy at the Gates. Based on the Siege of Stalingrad I believe.

Pretty sure that is Saving Private Ryan with the really religious sniper guy who shoots the German sniper through the scope. Pretty sure that is what you're talking about.

It isn't bollocks at all. Past wars were when people were just thrown at the enemy (Revolution style), but that isn't the case anymore. Lives are more valuable in a sense and people at the top are less willing to just waste lives on something that isn't a definate. WW2 was a definate though because the Nazis were trying to conquer the world, so we were willing to do whatever it took. After Vietnam though, all that changed especially with the whole preemptive strike thing/imperialism/democratizing/end-communism thing.

LOL you being facetious? .. as that hollywood smollywood movie as Saving Private Ryan. Good start to the movie but that's it.
