Meh, I'm the impressionable type. It's why I don't watch TV and almost never read political books.

I think whoever says 'pah! Hollywood Smollywood' about this film wants to get their head checked.

It's by far and away my favourite film.

I don't think anyone of us can make a judgement like that. None of us were really there. What we know is the pictures we see, the movies we watch, and the books we read. I mean sure there was some hollywood bullshit added, but with the background knowledge I have on WWII, I would say the movie got damn close to being very realistic.

More realistic than any other movie I have seen on WWII.

D-day veterans said that is what it was like, Spielberg said that's the biggest compliment he could receive.

There's no stupid action shots or anything daft. And I certainly wouldn't call parts of the story 'some hollywood bullshit'.

You guys haven't seen the behind the scenes footage? It was based off a real family who had 5 sons off to war, 4 died (2 were actually prisoners, but assumed dead), and the 5th son was sought out and brought back home.

Yeah, loosely based on the Niland brothers.

Awsome movie, and great fucking use of filters, the way the blood looked in some of those shots, and how grimy the action was, amazing! Loved this movie.
