Remember....the brown acid is NOT rat poison.
I was surprised that you could put a system in oil..thought it would short out. According to the text it kept the system at 88C while running some 3D program and it never crashed. |

It works because the mineral oil does not conduct any serious amount of electricity. You can do the same thing with canola oil.
I've done it before, with proplyene glycol, but I ran into other problems.  Did it for a school chemistry project, still got the pictures and what not. Graphics card and motherboard caught fire during the course of that project as well. Tiny flames though.  |
