Obviously guys got a bias but does raise some good points.

Is it just me or does the concept of a private army seem very scary?

Anyway, I'm all for PMCs. It gives the opportunity for many soldiers who have specialist training and many years of service a chance to finally earn a lot of money for what they love doing.

There have been private armies running around for hundreds of years, This is nothing new.

Companies like Sandline were making a killing in this business long before blackwater rolled up. Iraq is just the latest (and most profitable) in a long line of hot spots where PMCs have been employed.

Did you know as a combat medic in Iraq you can make $600 a day for Blackwater? You're deployed for 2 months, then you get a months leave. $36,000 doesn't sound bad for 2 months work to me.
