I need a new headset as well, the one i have worked great, it was a cheap $7 one, but the wires are showing, and I would like to invest in a $20-30 headset.

I had a 20 dollar Logitech pair (real nice pair while they lasted) and it doesnt work in the left ear, I was pretty pissed cause it was a real nice pair. So I just use my mic that came with the computer. When they did work, they worked really good and I was able to hear people sneaking up on me really easy which was nice. I'd recommend the Logitech ones but it seems like they dont last too long.

Do they? Thats good, because my £50 ($100) headphones just gave up the ghost. Along with my mobile taking a trip in the wash, currently my technology status isn't going so well.

I use £20 Sony closed headphones (pc has jack to twin phono and plugged into my stacker system form a creative soundblaster audigy oem soundcard) only 2ch sound really. I use a £1 headset from Poundland clamped round my throat for the microphone duties.

Admittedly one day I'll go past 2ch, but headphones are definitely better than using speakers for sure!

Sennheiser IMO are the best, period.

Though, Logitech is good as well and I own a pair of Logitech 850 premium.
I have owned a pair of Sennheiser headsets and the sound is extremely crisp. I also own the in ear headphones from Sennheiser with my mp3 player and they sound AMAZING...Bose can't even compare.
