ArmA and PR are two totally different animals. Just because you like one does not mean you will like the other, they shouldn't be compared.

Well, I downloaded the Euro demo a while back and played it a bit against bots. Even with the ability to respawn (you can respawn if there is a bot you can replace), I found it painful for oh-so-many reasons. Nevertheless, I'm giving the updated demo a try, because I really want to have a game which is more sim than PR to play, and I will try and see if playing against humans is any more fun. Worth one more try, since Arma does seem very appealling to me, at least on paper!

The verbal brutality found on forums is often reminiscent of the physical brutality found in first person shooters, except that forums allow those with slower reflexes to join the carnage without a handicap.

ArmA is amazing. the demo doesnt do it justice. If it seems appealing to you on paper, you will love it when its properly played online.
4+ guys on TS (in game voip is messed) going through evolution on coop is an amazing game experience. The time of day changes, the weather changes (storm fronts roll over the map), you can get missions like a patrol or ambush on a convoy, or you can clear the towns on the island. It has some preformance issues, but its really great. |
