Its not for everyone. Its more of a simulator then a arcade style game like bf2.

ArmA and PR are two totally different animals. Just because you like one does not mean you will like the other, they shouldn't be compared.

Well, I downloaded the Euro demo a while back and played it a bit against bots. Even with the ability to respawn (you can respawn if there is a bot you can replace), I found it painful for oh-so-many reasons. Nevertheless, I'm giving the updated demo a try, because I really want to have a game which is more sim than PR to play, and I will try and see if playing against humans is any more fun. Worth one more try, since Arma does seem very appealling to me, at least on paper!

*downloading...with reservations*

The verbal brutality found on forums is often reminiscent of the physical brutality found in first person shooters, except that forums allow those with slower reflexes to join the carnage without a handicap.

ArmA is amazing. the demo doesnt do it justice. If it seems appealing to you on paper, you will love it when its properly played online.

4+ guys on TS (in game voip is messed) going through evolution on coop is an amazing game experience. The time of day changes, the weather changes (storm fronts roll over the map), you can get missions like a patrol or ambush on a convoy, or you can clear the towns on the island. It has some preformance issues, but its really great.

What I realised after my post before was that I would NEVER play PR if I didn't get to play it online with (mostly) good teamwork people. So, my original lack of joy from the game might have come significantly from being totally bewildered by a very complex game and only having bots to explain it to me ;P I'm ever hopeful!

**EDIT**
Oops, my download was corrupted...let's try that again! This better be worth it ;P

**EDIT 2**
Second time was the charm. Played it a little and finding it generally better than the original demo that I tried a couple of months ago (probably because I've played a lot of PR since then, rather than massive improvements to the demo!)...
