Just saw some crysis movies...

Did anyone watch the latest tech-trailer for crysis?
The possibilities this engine offers are fantastic...Physics, textures, lightning, all on a higher level than in every game before. The animations are so DAMN smooth, they are almost 100% realistic.
I am REALLY fascinated, this engine offers more than every other upcoming engine and might be #1 for years.

Also the level editor looks pretty interesting, quite easy and still powerfull.
I will gladly buy a new system for this

Specific link to what you were watching? I've seen bits and pieces of throughout the end of 2006, it is pretty advanced for sure! Sometimes these games though have a wierd side effect of getting so realistic that they are a pain in the ass to create content for, instead of 50 things to make sure are going well, you might now have 500 and at times takes so much of the lime light that it becomes a bit easier to forget about eh actual game play fun level (This last sentence is speculation on my part BTW).

bREAK THE CODE! and any way that was they said about ETQW, i find it hard to imagine they will physically cap it at 32. AND anyway, any new game that PR is goign to mod needs to be able to take more than 64, not 128, but around 80-90 would be very usefull.

But over 2KM DRAWDISTANCE?! (possibly 5 +, dont wnat to overexaderate, possibly 10).

p.s IMO, i think Unreal 3 would be the best engine, possibly either from Brother in Amrs 3 or Unreal 2007.

1 Grab a SAW
2 Find the highest hill/building around a flag
3 Move there, stay there, Spot, call out, attack marker... SAW!
4 For god sake go from high ground to high ground! NOT bottom of a valley to open field to gully!

Yeah it's pretty amazing. My buddies and I still like to play Far Cry against each other sometimes, there were graphics advacements in that game that still look better today in osme scenarios than anything I"ve seen yet.

Anyone confirm that there is a 32 player cap for Crytek 2?

ET:QW looks fun (Appreciate the complexisty an dwork that wnet into it) but I personally think it will be game I would get bored of in a weekend. It reminds me of UT:2004 Onslaught mode which I thought would be fun, and I played it a bunch hoping it would get fun but in the end decided it was awful. The rest of the UT stuff was still fun though for pure mindless LAN games.

I bet more than 90% people will not have graphics like that.
But those gotta be some of the best effects ever seen before.

Daaaaamn, that looked sooooo real! How do they do it? Such high quality shadows, lighting, without lightmaps?! And that basement part looked almost 100% real. It's just too much for words. Although, yes, making objects for it will be a pain, and people will have to learn how to model and texture procedural breaking effects.

.

Under normal circumstances, everybody pwns Griffon, in Soviet Russia, Griffon pwns EVERYBODY!
