after french troops had to flee all frontline battles around the world, because of failing anti-tank missiles, american troops rushed to help, using their superior at-equipement

Yep, guess that’s why the US commander (Scharwzkop...something) placed a French unit on his west flank in the first gulf war. He just didn’t felt he could trust those French troops.
