Pimped out my '03 Avalon this past friday

See what you guys get me to do when I'm banned for a week? I got so bored I went and got my Avalon pimped out!

ok, well.. it was completely stock at first... resembling this picture here:

Then I had my boys, Shemi and Conk work on it last friday.... along with my buddy 'Lance

Here's the final product!!!!

First, we shortened and lowered the rear bumper, also lightened it up by getting rid of the non-important stuff.

Then i had the front bumper lightened up, Conk helped me with this one!!!

Isn't it hot!!!

Then i realized the car was a bit too wide for my driving styles, so I had Lance work on the right side for me while Shemi worked on the rear.

Oh yeah! Don't want to forget the interior!!!

Tried to add a bit of bling with all that sparkle in the second picture! what do you think?

It looks a bit cramped from the outside, but i swear, it's comfortable enough to live in in there.

If you haven't figured it out... i was in a pretty violent accident on last friday.

Conk is the Concrete barrier that I originally hit after losing control on I-690 (didn't cause all the front end damage you see... A lot of that came later.
Lance is the Ambulance that showed up prior to the majority of the damage.
Shemi is obviously the Semi truck that hit me.

Full story- I was driving on I-690 East, spun out, lost control on some ice/snow/whatever. Front left bumper slams into a concrete barrier, stops the car dead cold. (Air bags didn't deploy) I get out of the car, look at the damage and get back in and for whatever reason compelled me to, put my seatbelt back on. Then I call 911, finally an ambulance shows up about 30 mins later. As i watch the ambulance pull infront of me, I turn around, on the phone with my parents to check behind me for more Emergency vehicles. All i see is a semi truck coming straight for me, and it was obvious he wasn't about to stop. Nor was he going to miss me. After yelling something that sounds like OH SPIT! over the phone to my parents, the semi slams into the rear of my car at about 50mph causing the rest of the frontal and entirety of the rear damage. This sends me into a spin, slamming my right passenger side into the back of the ambulance that had come to my aide, pushing the ambulance about 20 feet.

I get out of the car, and walk over to the ambulance. The EMTs looked at me like I was a ghost. As far as they were concerned, I should be dead. I get carted away in a different ambulance, since this one was involved in the accident. I get to the hospital on a backboard, with a neckbrace on and everything. The doctors and nurses run the X-Rays, do the palpatation checks, and have me monitored for 4 hours. All that was abnormal was a few scratches on the back of my arm from the blown out rear glass, and a stiff neck from being thrown around so violently.

In short... I'm alive today because of a bit of luck, and because I was wearing my seatbelt. I'm also scared spitless of driving or riding in a car now, and have had to for the past few days... a car back from the bus station in rochester after a bus ride from syracuse to rochester. A car ride to the rochester airport, from the airport to syracuse, past the crash site... Very traumatizing.....

In short, kids... wear your seatbelts. Almost wouldn't be here relating this to you if i hadn't.

Would've been flung from the vehicle. Those of you who know the area, John Glenn Blvd or whatever it is, where it meets with 690, my bumper's sitting there still. The rear one.

Righto.. and before I leave you, after reviewing my 100% warning status... I guess it's ok to say F- Whitey!

Pretty damn stupid for a Truck driver to do that. I mean it's not like your sideways car-slammed-into-wall just popped up out of nowhere. That's reckless and careless driving on his behalf. He should've been paying more attention to the road, especially if conditions were snowy/slipperty.

i wasn't exactly like -| in relation to the wall, it was closer to \|

But yeah, there were emergency vehicles goin up the other way on the road, the ambulance had its lights going, and the right lane of traffic was stopped to rubberneck. He shouldn't have been tearing along at 50-60mph with all of that going on.

Crap, scary shit! Dont know you but nice to hear you made it without any major injuries! Guess you have a guardian angel watching over you... As for driving, get back up on the horse! Had a friend that totalled his car, he told me that the only reason he still can drive is that he started to drive again soon after the accident. But then again I have not been in that situation so i probably don't know how hard it is...

They were Swedes; in terms of individual intelligence, integrity and single-mindedness I was to find them among the most impressive soldiers I had ever encountered. In Vares their moment had come."

I lack a car to drive that I wouldn't be killed for totaling. I'm 300+ miles away from "home" and my 'rents would kill me if I dented their 300C, so everything will have to wait for the insurance settlement

To be honest I don't really like what you've done to the rear end.

Maybe next time you'll buy a quality American engineered Chevrolet!
