PC Problems!!!

Ok, I am having tremendous problems with my computer. Just to clear some things out, it is not a virus or a worm. It has something to do with technical. Ok here it is, I wanted to dual boot windows vista and windows xp like normal people do. I went ahead and partitioned the drive to 20gb. I was planning on only use the 20gb unpartitioned space for p.r. and other games that don't support vista. I went ahead and installed XP as NTFS format and then after that it gives me an error! But the real problem was that the 20gb corrupted partition was set as primary. My real primary partition was 300gb. My motherboard is ASUS and I called them, they told me to reset the CMOS jumpers but that didn't help. Now, I'm stuck at the BIOS screen while I boot. My PC specs are:
Asus A8R MVP Crossfire Motherboard
G.Skill 2GB DDR RAM
GeForce 7600GT
Western Digital SE 16mb cache 7200RPM 320gb drive
NEC DVD/RW drive
AMD 3800X2 Dual core @2.0ghz

Reformat start over. Partitions are crap, if you want to run more than one OS on your box use VMWare (virtual machines) you can install as many OS as you have ram to handle and they can all run at the same time, which is obviously better than dual boot.

thx very much for the tip, but I can't even get to my BIOS!!! I am completely stuck, I am really not sure how to do the reset CMOS jumper thing.

btw, is virtual machines runs at the same time...doesn't that take a toll on the RAM, or do you have the option to run each OS?

You can set the ram settings for each OS. So if your box has XP default and you install a virtual Vista you can set it so that if you have 2gig total ram, 90% of it gets used by vista or any way you want it.

You have to boot into the native OS to run VMware but once you do and start up a virtual machine you can maximize it and anyone who didnt know it was a virtual machine would have no idea that they are not using the native OS on that box.

That is sweet, I won't screw with partitions any more. BTW, how can I set it to boot from the hard drive first from my computer because it's stuck at the ASUS splash screen. I don't want to return my mobo only to find out I have to return my HDD -.-.

You have to be able to get into the BIOS to set the boot order, usually F1, Delete when you see the asus splash screen.
