It's not much, but this does pretty much prove that a Band Of Brothers set in the Pacific Thearter is coming to HBO.

Wow, thanks a lot for the link. I thought BoB is the greatest mini series ever. So very indepth and historic. Even though its a long series, I wished they could have done every theatre of war. Now my dream is coming true. I cant wait

The trick to sniping is patience....
Another would be to aim a little above the the head and then a little lower so you actually hit it... |

I've got Band of Brothers on DVD. It's like eight discs I think. I don't know about Over There. I think it may be too soon for stuff on Iraq (we're still there damn it). I think it may be good, as long as it doesn't disrespect any of the soldiers or Iraqi people.
I mean look at a lot of the Vietnam movies, a lot of them have guys killing the indiginous people without reason, or being half insane.. Sure it happened, but to include it in so many movies is rediculous. Of course, some of them showed the courageous side of the troops over there, but a lot of them didn't. So I just hope they don't be dumb and try to milk it as a long series for money. |

i remember band of brothers was the first program that made me really think about ww2 after that i asked grandad about his expiereance as a medic with the chindits in burma a few months later he died but if i hadnt seen that series i never would have asked. so yeah i would well like to see a pacific bob im guessing itll be about the marines on gadalcanal, iwo jimoa, tarawa etc. the "over there series" sounds good too bad im in england and wont see it till probably later this year. but i dont think anti war people will like it if it shows to much heroism which is dumb, cause they are heroes. even if the war is wrong their still there fighting for their countries and u just gota support em and hope they can all come home soon

Im all for this, and against it at the same time. I've seen first hand what families go through when a member is overseas, and the last thing I would have wanted was a damn TV series to sensationalize it and worry my family even more.
On the other hand, it does look interesting. |
