I did my eyetest for the forces recently and they asked me specifically if I spent long periods of time reading computer screens....which was a tad worrying.

Turns out I'm long sighted and could read any font they threw at me. If I get to fly Eurofighters I'll tell all the kids out there it was computer games that put me there.

Maybe it helps you quickly identify items on a screen. But staring at computer monitors at a fixed distance for a long time actually ruins your vision, especially if your eyes are prone to having those kinds of issues, which have to do with the tiny muscles in your eyes.

So basically I call BS on this article because it ignores the fact that playing video games is actually bad for your eyes in other ways.
