Aussie music!

Any Aussies out there that listen to one of these bands:

the Saints, Rocks, X, the Victims, Radio Birdman, the Scientists, Fun Things, or Psycho Surgeons?

I wonder if in AU they are as obscure and rare as they are in the US (you only see most of these bands on the Killed by Death comps).

Ah! I saw them when they played NYC, their first US tour (which is crazy for a band that has been around since 75) they were fantastic, and all really nice guys, you aussies really know how to do rock and roll

We were there at the start of the punk thing with The Saints, too... but Radio Birdman really rock... I think they still tour occasionally ? I remember 10 years ago when I was at University here they were touring...

Radio Birdman is lost on all the kids now, though... and the Scientists and The Victims and all that - they are obscure as, now... I grew up with a lot of punk rock influences and a 13 y.o. recently asked me if that meant "Iron Maiden"... (lol) -- so... the great stuff has faded... as all things must... I guess.

Things are so much more commercial now.

Aloha Steve and Danno...

The Saints! How did I forget to add them to my list (does that now) It's amazing how at one end of the world you have the ramones forming, and in another end you have the saints, and in another you have the boys, and they all sound different, but have that common bond.

Yeah it seems like no one really knows about music at all these days. Like you said "iron maiden" or what's worse is when I say what kind of music I like people think "oh green day" and im like "no NO!"

There are still alot of good bands in that vain and style, it isn't dead. In New York City and Memphis and Central California there is a big garage rock 60's punk thing.
