Even If the round is unable to penetrate the flesh, doesnt mean it can't be fatal, if the doesnt penetrate the flesh but impacts and pushes in far enough it can be fatal, does is say if he broke any bones, because if he was just wearing kevlar, I'd say there is a pretty good chance he could have.

Friend of mine was shot several times in kosovo, and his driver twice in the chest. His driver was wearing a Flak vest, and ended up developing more fatal complications from his wounds than my friend...

that is utterly amazing, he is very lucky, or the vests are very good... that looks like some paintball wound's ive had, anything that can dumb down a bullet into a paintball wound wins my vote...

He turned just at the last second. not sure if it would of made a difference. Why wouldn't the sniper have aimed for the head?????. luckily he didn't.

If he was aiming for the heart, I'd say he did a pretty good job. Hope the marines got to lay the smack on him afterwards. After all, he DID just open a six-pack of woopass.

If you read the story, it says that the guy who was shot gave medical aid to the guy who shot him after they found him.

Must have missed the link in my desperate attempts to grasp the entire issue with just the faintest of information on the subject, as I often do.

I should of course have said: "{I would have} Hope(d) the marines got to lay the smack on him afterwards."

Im glade that the sniper while aiming for the chest region, didnt hit him in the side, reason being that body armor is has little to no protection on the sides, basically it protects your chest and back, but no sides.
