I have the saitek kyboard and the letter's wore off the movement keys in about a week ( 100 hours of use )
The Z board looks very cool and I would be interested to know why you wouldn't want that one. I would get the Z even if it's a little more. |

I have never heard a single good review for the zboards. I have only heard bad and hate.
Did you get a voucher for a free zboard or something? |

The zboard with the removable keysets IMHO is a piece of junk.
Loved it for about 30 days. Even keeping it clean didn't seem to seem to prevent endless problems with buttons that perodically stop working. Replaced it with the Zboard FANG I really like it because it allow me to have my mouse and controls closer together. (big Difference when they are not seperated by miles of keys) No problems and very comfortable to use. Of course you have to keep a real keyboard around for chat but as far as controls go the FANG is great. http://www.zboard.com/experience/FANG/ The Ergodex DX1 is my planned upgrade. This has to be the ultimate FPS controller. http://www.ergodex.com/content.php?id=12 Check it out. It is very pricey but man oh man it looks sweet. |

Ive had this Saitek eclipse since not long after they came out, just had to have one for the glow in the dark key feature :P none of my keys have worn down at all and theyve had a hell of alot longer than 100 hours keybashing. Quote:

yeah ,,, at the time I bought the keyboard I wasn't working and I started playing around 9am and played till 1-2am with some breaks during the day ....so 100 hours is about right.
The keys aren't scribed on mine.... it's like it's clear plastic with a silver coating and the letter or number is the clear plastic to let the light out. I also have 2 blue bulbs in separate lights and the blue off my vid card for the total effect. It's a shame the Zboard seems to be crap IRL cuz it looks like it would be pretty cool. But MadStudFarm has just raised the cost of my new system by 150$ because I ahve to have that moveable key pad thing. The Fang looks like I would have to relearn the keystrokes and I'm old , lazy and slow so I don't know about that whole thing but the butterfly paddles look cool. |

I recently bought and now use the MERC zboard. And I gotta say its not really worth the effort. I don't use the special key layout like I thought I would and the software (Zengine) that is used to control the thing is terrible. Its like this huge program that takes up 30mgs (while running) and is slow and crappy to use.
Seriously dude, you should not get a Zboard. I made the mistake and it was a waste of money. |

Yes I agree, this is a great Keyboard.
However, mine was a little wacked since it had two number 5 keys [the number roll that across the top]. After a number of customer calls/emails Logitech ended up sending me a whole new keyboard and let me keep the wacked one too. So now I have two of them!! Seems they are unable to just send one key [or any key replacements] - which is all I wanted really. ![]() Quote:
