Explanation: What is it? It was found at the bottom of the sea aboard an ancient Greek ship. Its seeming complexity has prompted decades of study, although many of its functions remained unknown. Recent X-rays of the device have now confirmed the nature of the Antikythera mechanism, and discovered several surprising functions. The Antikythera mechanism has been discovered to be a mechanical computer of an accuracy thought impossible in 80 BC, when the ship that carried it sunk. Such sophisticated technology was not thought to be developed by humanity for another 1,000 years. Its wheels and gears create a portable orrery of the sky that predicted star and planet locations as well as lunar and solar eclipses. The Antikythera mechanism, shown above, is 33 centimeters high and similar in size to a large book.

So this is a real thing they discovered and just found out what it is for? Either way sheds some light on how advanced the Greeks were I suppose.

But this would mean that historians were wrong, very wrong and perhaps there are many other things about the real old days that aren't as we have been told.
This is the last ancient GPS that was reverse engineered over many genrations from the equipment brought by the stranded starmen later known as the Greek Gods.

Maybe they had flying cars and hover skateboards back then as well. You just never know, and i personally dont believe "history", a man writes a book about something, a few centries later people believe that its true because its old. They lived like we did except they didnt have electronics, but other than that its the same life. (harder back then too). If i write a book now, saying erm...in a few million years time some planet outer space is gonna blow up...and after those million years pass and it happens then people will look back and say, he is a god cause he saw into the future, were as in real life i just wanted money and attention (i hope you understand what im saying).

And people make up things to get attention and press coverage....i hardly believe what i read in text books, unless its a primary source..and how do they "decode" the olden languages anyway ? people still speak them ? how do they translate the old bible thingymajig ?...its all lies....
