Subject: FW: Love this Marine !!!


A United States Marine was attending some college courses between
assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. One
of the courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist and a member
of the ACLU.

One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked
to the ceiling and flatly stated, "God, if you are real, then I want
you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 minutes."

The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes
went by and the professor proclaimed, "Here I am God. I'm still
waiting."

It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of
his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him knocking him
off the platform. The professor was out cold. The Marine went back to
his seat and sat there, silently.

The other students were shocked and stunned and sat there looking on
in silence. The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked
at the Marine and asked, "What the hell is the matter with you? Why did
you do that?"

The Marine calmly replied, "God was too busy today protecting
America's soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid shit and act
like a dumb ass.
........... ...So, He sent me."

Thats great. I personally wouldve done worse to that professor. Not because hes an atheist, but because he teaches it in front of the class.

Sounds like the marine's a cocky prick. If it was a philosophy class, and the professor was making a point about something, then this was completely unjustified on the marine's part. If the professor was just an asshole, then I doubt his little demonstration would have converted anybody to atheism. It would have just made people pissed off at him, and resulted in complaints to the university. Instead this kid decides he's going to be a hero and assault his teacher.

I really doubt that it happened, it's just a story.
I think the point is more that there are many people in higher education who are not connected to reality and think that the life they lead " just happened" and that it doesn't need to be protected.
While the professor has his right to free speech he also runs a risk by mocking the beliefs of BILLIONS of people.
Perhaps that disdain for tradition is part of the problem with the war in Iraq because that disdain can also leads to a narrow minded view that since I am very educated I must be correct in all my beliefs.
It also reflects the utter contempt that many people, not all Marines, feel for the pampered elite that would shit on any thing they don't like.
Engage a leftie in a political conversation and very often they will get very nasty when you don't agree with their assumptions.
Listen to the comments made by anti-war people and you will see that they lob the most horrible accusations at our military on a regular basis and in private are even more hateful and mean spirited than when they are on TV or other mass media.

IF it was a story, so what, it was funny.

It is just like stories kid telll each other before Exams to make each other laugh. Like the girl who planned to commit suicide (due to Exams) and in one, sharpened 2 pencils really carefully, stuck 1 up each nose, lent her head back quickly and died - ofcourse totaly untrue, but funny al the same, while Adjudicators come roudn saying be quiet and keep working while, blood pours from the dead girls head, slowely seeping around the carpet below her but every one stil has to keep working and be silent! A good laugh before misery.
