It remembers you. Nice try though.

This would be great if they changed it up a bit (surely not possible given the current mod. maybe not possible given hardcoding). Like make it so that once you die, you wait 2 minutes (it would take this long to switch servers anyway) and then you get moved to a side game, which is classic PR. That way the main game still gets the cool "my life means a lot", but it's not such a big deal if you die, and you can still play till the next round (which starts once the "main" game is finished)

Sadly I agree. The only players that stay alive more than 10 minutes at a time are those in helicopters and jets. On foot, being alone and/or spotted equals death within 3 minutes tops.

I'd guess that either everyone would camp, yeah, or either run along the edge of the map, on foot, with more than half of the team being medics. To be heard would mean death.

It'd fare better in a jungle map than an open one. More cover = live longer.

I said BF2 gameplay can't have hour long battles, and my main reasoning was that everything that you said (which would be awesome) are not possible. At all.

The day that there are no respawns is the day I stop playing this completely.

It would destroy the game and the FUN.

None of this America's Army bloody nonsense.

What if:

Infantry only
Set time for 20-15 minutes
Smallest maps, or make a small map just for that purpose.
(If you get a following, take a bigger map)
Clearly warn anybody that you only have one life.

Unsure - when you die, is it possible to follow a diffrent player?
Cause I've played games with 1 life, 1 chance and actually like it alot. Spent lot of time dying after first 15 seconds, but when I then started to watch the more experienced players I learned how to stay alive AND improve my game.

I seriously hope the devs don't even think about considering this.

You would lose huge numbers of players.

It wouldn't be up to the devs, as it can be done via server settings, and it wasn't a suggestion. If it had been, I wouldn't have put this thread in Off Topic. Only to ponder, not truly consider.

becuase between your legs are balls and such and you value them, so players would inturn value their lives more, durrr!!!!!!

Jking, it is becuase players feel more like real people rather than flaoting entitires with a stick in from of them. When i play, i only really feel absorbed when i am in a heli cos i can look around the cockpit and hten outside and becuase i have never done that is real life, it seems amazing and totaly absorbing and distracking from RL. BUt becuase i have walked, sprint and ran with sticks and airsofts guns i know what that stuff feels like and player PR does not get me half as close, i wnat legs and chests damit!!!!

is Wasteland soldier's idea possible on a coding level ?
That would be the best of both worlds because 1 life would work if you knew that after that life you didn't have to sit and wait 20 min to play again.
I would try a server with really high spawn times or even no respawn.
You would have to move very carefully, almost as if your life depended on it.
I would also like to foward my suggestion for ultra realism with a TENS unit hooked up to the computer and when you get shot you get shocked.
