I have been seeing disturbing things from Australia as well.
The key to dealing with these hatemongers is to turn their audience against them.
If you kick them out of the country or repress them in some way they get more street cred and that only increases the problem.
The solution is shunning them and that must come from the Islamic community itself.
There are signs that the extremist types are losing support from the regular people but it will be a long battle and they are very smart and will adapt to any countermeasures used against them.
In the end we can only hope that free and open societies will apeal to the Islmic community at large and then the hatemonger types will be relegated to the fringes the way the Christian wackos are.

I must point out the arrogance in thinking that the West will always rule and that our society / countries can never be defeated.
I don't have the numbers but I think there are more people under repressive regimes than free countries so defeat is possible if not probable in the short term.

That's bad as well, but as far as I can tell there are two key differences. First, you rarely, if ever, actually see these Christian lunatics actually doing some of the more radical things they preach but you can't say that about Islamic extremists. Second, crazy Christians generally don't want to change their nation all too much(mainly because they are usually natives) but Islamic radicals usually wish to force Sharia law(which oddly enough isn't required by Islam) on to whichever nation they are preaching in. More importantly though, Christian radicals are not growing in large numbers which, in combination with the above, makes them a minimal problem and threat. Radical Islam however is on the rise and more and more moderate Muslims are falling under the spell of radical Imams. Radical Islam is a groing problem in Europe, the bombings on 7/11 could only be the start.

You make a good point LJ.

I do disagree with you that Christian lunatics don't do radical things. They do, but they have learned how to use the system against the system. And in the west we don't preach what we teach, we just get cold hard cash and voters instead.

But I just realized something. I think I'll read up on both topics and after about 6 months time (have to shanghai two courses at university that I'm not enrolled to) and make another contribution on this thread.
